On January 31st, West Glades School hosted the annual 4th – 8th grade Spelling Bee.  A total of 32 contestants qualified for the Spelling Bee, along with 16 alternates from the 4th – 8th grade English classrooms.  After a lively competition, Zoie Gregorio, a 6th grader, earned the gold medal for the 2nd year in a row.  Araceli Delgado-Juarez, a 5th grader, won the second place silver medal.  Tanner O’Donnell, an 8th grader, was the 3rd place bronze medal winner.

The top two contestants, Zoie and Araceli, advanced to the Regional Southeastern Florida Scripps Spelling Bee at the Benjamin School in West Palm Beach on February 21st.  We are so proud of both of these girls and thrilled to announce that Zoie was one of twenty students from grades 4 -8 who advanced to the Final Round of the bee.  Zoie was the 5th place finalist, which is quite an amazing accomplishment.  Congratulations, Zoie!
