Moore Haven Middle-High School is proud to welcome Mr. Deric Allen as the new Head Football Coach, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Born and raised in Chiefland, FL, Coach Allen is a graduate of Chiefland High School (CHS), where he excelled both academically and athletically. An honors student with an impressive 4.23 GPA, he graduated in 2012, setting a high standard for academic achievement. He went on to attend Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Santa Fe College, and is currently completing his degree in Sports Management.
Coach Allen’s coaching journey began in his hometown of Chiefland, where he joined the Chiefland Athletic Association (CAAA). During his time there, he not only coached youth football but also led his teams to multiple youth championships. His commitment to the community is evident in the free football camps and training sessions he organized for athletes of all ages, providing valuable skills and mentorship to young players.
In his most recent role, Coach Allen made a significant impact at Lake Placid High School in Lake Placid, FL. As the Offensive Coordinator, Quarterback Coach, and Defensive Back Coach, he helped lead the team to its first 2A District Championship since 1998, as well as a Regional playoff appearance. His leadership on both sides of the ball demonstrated his ability to develop well-rounded and competitive teams.
In addition to his football career, Coach Allen is a licensed realtor and is certified in Emergency Management, skills that further showcase his dedication to serving and helping others in various ways.
Outside of his professional career, Coach Allen is a proud father to his 6-year-old son, D.J., who is his biggest supporter. His commitment to family, education, and football creates the foundation for his coaching philosophy, which focuses on hard work, discipline, and character-building.
Coach Allen’s deep connection to the community, experience in developing young athletes, and proven track record in high school football make him an outstanding addition to the Moore Haven Middle-High School football program. His leadership will undoubtedly inspire the next generation of athletes, both on the field and in life.
We are excited to have Coach Allen leading the charge for the Terriers and look forward to his continued success with the team!
