We want to inform you that, due to the anticipated winds from Hurricane Helene, we have made the decision to cancel school for tomorrow. This choice was not made lightly; the safety of our students is our top priority, and we believe this is the best course of action under the current circumstances.
We made this decision in consultation with Glades County Emergency Management to ensure the well-being of our students and staff. We understand that school closures can be disruptive, but we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize safety.
Classes will resume on Friday, and we encourage everyone to stay updated on the situation. Please ensure that your family stays safe and secure during this time.

Today we conducted an Active Assailant Drill also known as a lockdown drill at WGS. All stakeholders participated in the drill and then resumed classes as usual. These drills will occur monthly and are a part of our standard safety protocols. The safety and security of your child are our top priority.
